Emerson Veterans Affordable Housing Groundbreaking Ceremony

The Housing Authority of Bergen County and The Housing Development Corporation of Bergen County, in collaboration with the American Legion Post 269, broke ground this morning on the planned veterans’ housing development in Emerson. The finished development will consist of 14 single-story one-bedroom residences, within 7 duplex-style buildings. This design was developed by Arcari & Iovino Architects in connection to a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development competition and will be used as a model design for similar housing projects across the country. Funding for the project will come from the NJ Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency, the Housing Development Corporation, and Bergen County HOME.

The men and women who have faithfully served our country deserve safe, affordable housing and community support as civilians, especially those who became disabled as a result of their service
