Upper Saddle River - The Residences

The Upper Saddle River Supportive Housing project entails the new construction of 70 affordable apartments in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey for Seniors and Special Needs persons.
The Upper Saddle River Supportive Housing project will is located at 570 Route 17 North, north of Brookside Drive, in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey. The site is identified as Block 1002, Lot 4.02 and contains 7.81 acres.
The Housing Development Corporation of Bergen County (HDC) is the sole developer of the Upper Saddle River Supportive Housing project and is the 100% General Partner in the project’s tax credit ownership entity, USR HDC Supportive Housing Urban Renewal, LP.
The Upper Saddle River Supportive Housing project will consist of 70 newly constructed apartments, including 69 one-bedroom rental units (650 sq. ft.) and 1 two-bedroom superintendent’s unit (875 sq. ft). The project is designed as a three-story apartment building with elevator service, on-site parking, security cameras, and secured entry. The project’s common areas will include a lobby, a community room with a kitchen, laundry facilities with Energy Star labeled commercial equipment, and office space for property management and social service staff.
Of the 70 units in the project, there are 51 units reserved for low-income Seniors 55 years of age or older; 18 units reserved for Special Needs households, with a preference for Veterans; and 1 rent-free superintendent’s unit. Of the 18 homeless units, 5 units are age restricted for persons 55 years of age and over and 13 units are non-age restricted.
